about
"This Christmas, we thought it’d be fun to tackle a song from one of our favourite holiday films, Jim Henson’s 1977 masterpiece Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas. Our World, penned by the legendary songwriter Paul Williams for the film’s impeccable soundtrack, is a stirring ode to worldwide brotherly love. Recorded at home over a couple of wintry afternoons, we’ve taken this evocative ballad and turned it into a two-minute jangle-pop nugget.
All proceeds from sales of Our World via Bandcamp will be donated to International Otter Survival Fund, an Isle of Skye-based charity dedicated to the conservation and protection of otters around the world."
lyrics
We're closer now than ever before
There's love in our world and we're showing it more
Our world says, "Welcome, stranger, everybody's a friend
Favourite stories don't end, in our world"
Some say our world is getting too small
I say, with kindness, there's room for us all
Our world is always changing, every day's a surprise
Love can open your eyes, in our world
When night lays sad upon you, go watch a simple sunrise
Love can open your eyes, in our world

I love Jetstream Pony. To use a cliche, their music is like a warm, comforting blanket that envelopes you, covers you completely, and keeps you safe and warm. Custom Made In 1968
The indie pop on Songs From Another Life sounds confident yet delicate, and the strummy and jangly guitars makes me long for spring. Some songs sound like straight up Teenage Fanclub worship, but in a good way. Fans of The Byrds and Big Star will probably dig this as well. Niek || Add To Wantlist
Sincerely sweet indie pop in the late 90s-era Belle & Sebastian mold, trending more towards chamber pop than shambling rock. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 16, 2024
